about

This very well might be the first anthem for child free couples. Someone had to write it. People may question if we made the right choice to not have children and we feel positive that we did the right thing for our life. We still get to be an Aunt and Uncle (and sleep in if we want.) I gave this song a sardonic twist to bring a little surprise into a strange subject.

lyrics

THE BLOODLINE (Noëlle Hampton)

It’s you and me baby
Left here standing alone
A lifetime of memories
Lived out in flesh and bone
Nobody cares, no one remembers
We left our mark in the smoldering embers
Step to the edge and wait for the great unknown

It’s the end of the bloodline
It’s been a party and we’re feeling fine
It’s the end of the bloodline
Let’s burn it down, we’re getting out in time

Staying up late playing music ’til a quarter of three
There’s nothing to regret, it’s always been just you and me
So many people living back to back
We’ll leave our songs, you can remember us from every track
I gotta say this world is getting just a little crazy

Now it’s the end of the bloodline
It’s been a party and we’re feeling fine
It’s the end of the bloodline
It’s over now you know we’ve had our time

It’s just you and me baby
Left here standing alone
Step to the edge
Wait for the great unknown

Now it’s the end of the bloodline
It’s been a party and we’re feeling fine
It’s the end of the bloodline
We did our thing and now we’re out of time
It’s the end of the bloodline
It’s been a party and we’re feeling fine
It’s the end of the bloodline
Let’s burn it down, we’re getting out in time
