A friend of mine just had a baby and told me she might name her Cassiopeia. Thankfully (for her baby) she didn’t, but I guess it stuck in my head. When a different friend started getting into things she couldn’t handle and was self destructing in front of my eyes, I wrote this song for her. It all makes sense that the character’s name is Cassiopeia, when you hear the lyric, “Cassiopeia, don’t burn out”. The day that we were laying down overdubs for the track, Google featured a playable Moog on it’s homepage for the Anniversary of Bob Moog. We told our producer about it and within minutes we were using it on the song. It actually ended up taking that track to a whole other level. The tambourine drum loop and Rhodes part were something I did on the demo, that we all agreed should be on the track.
