I wanted to bring in one of my best friends, Lizzy Lehman (formerly of Carry Illinois) local songwriter, LGBTQ and body positive advocate and Instagram artist to help me finish this track. I had produced it all up and had a chorus idea, but wanted to collaborate with her on the verses to create the perfect disco song to come out of a pandemic, as well as a year filled with anger and division. She lives her life from a place of compassion and acceptance and it comes out in her music and art. I wanted her words to meld with mine. I love what we created.

There are moments in the single when it sounds like it’s right out of the 70s/80s and moments when you remember it is current. The last thing we need now is for everyone to lose sight of what we just went through or it will take us right back where we were. Remember where you came from but look toward a brighter future with a new purpose.
